The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of North Carolina was founded
in 1924 with its organizing meeting and first annual meeting being held 21
November 1924 at the residence of Burnham Standish Colburn in Biltmore Forest,
North Carolina. This meeting was attended by 14 Charter Members and by
Secretary General Addison P. Munroe who assisted in organizing our state society.
There were 21 Charter Members of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in
the State of North Carolina. Each of the Charter Members had become a
member of an existing state society and transferred membership to North Carolina
in 1924. These Charter Members are listed in the table below.
